Bengaluru-based Enterprise AI security startup Unbound has raised $4 million to accelerate model orchestration, strengthen data protection, enhance AI integration, expand its internal AI tools, and scale open-source Large Language Model (LLM) adoption, addressing a critical gap in corporate AI governance.
As businesses rapidly embrace generative AI, Unbound offers a timely solution that ensures enterprises remain in control. With the rise of AI copilots for coding, content creation, and analytics, employees often use these tools without IT supervision. Unbound counters this risk by offering real-time monitoring, redaction, and rerouting of AI prompts, all without interrupting workflows.
Its platform plugs directly into widely used applications like Cursor, Roo, and internal copilots. Through advanced model orchestration and threat detection, Unbound prevents sensitive data such as API keys and patient records from leaking outside the organization.
Unbound, a Smart, Scalable Approach
Rather than blocking AI usage, Unbound smartly redirects high-risk queries to secure, in-house, open-source large language models (LLMs) while allowing safe prompts to proceed. This strategy enables teams to reduce AI infrastructure costs by up to 70 percent while safeguarding privacy.
One tech company deployed Gemini 2.5, with over 100 engineers using Unbound, and safely rolled out the new model in under a week. To date, Unbound’s system has prevented more than 7,000 instances of potential data leaks involving credentials and personal information.
Founded in 2023 by Rajaram Srinivasan and Vignesh Subbiah, Unbound brings heavyweight experience to AI security. Srinivasan hails from Palo Alto Networks and Imperva, while Subbiah’s track record includes Adobe, Tophatter, and Shogun. Together, they’ve built a platform designed from the ground up to handle enterprise-grade AI governance with a focus on scalability and compliance.
Race Capital, which led the oversubscribed seed round, praised Unbound’s infrastructure-first approach. General Partner Edith Yeung noted that Unbound represents a new class of AI tooling—one that fuses visibility, safety, and cost efficiency into a single platform.
India in Focus
Based in Bengaluru, Unbound plans to invest over $1 million to grow its local team and further develop its platform. The company sees enormous potential in India, where enterprises are seeking affordable and secure AI solutions. With demand for model orchestration and AI observability on the rise, Unbound’s expansion could not be better timed.
Additionally, the startup will deepen integrations across the AI ecosystem and enhance its support for internal model orchestration. By enabling enterprises to customize how and where AI models operate, Unbound ensures every organization can deploy the right tool for the right task—without compromising on security.
Already serving clients across healthcare and tech, Unbound is poised to become a backbone of enterprise AI adoption. Its product aligns seamlessly with current industry needs—especially as companies transition from experimentation to production-scale AI deployments. With its strong foundation and strategic funding, Unbound promises a future where AI is both powerful and protected.
