Originating from Chhattisgarh, Quantum-accelerated simulation software startup BQP, short for BosonQ Psi, has raised $5 million in an oversubscribed seed funding round to expand its digital twin platform, BQPhy, across the aerospace, defense, and semiconductor sectors, aiming to transform simulation with hybrid and quantum-ready capabilities.

BQP has secured fresh capital from Monta Vista Capital, Empire State Development’s New York Ventures, Arc Ventures, Alumni Ventures, and others. The latest infusion brings the startup’s total funding to $6.6 million. Backers include early supporters like Paradigm Shift Capital and the Griffiss Institute, demonstrating continued faith in BQP’s quantum-first approach to simulation.

Founded in 2020 by Abhishek Chopra, Jash Minocha, and Rut Lineswala, BQP is disrupting the $22 billion simulation market by building quantum-accelerated simulation software that integrates with modern engineering workflows. Its flagship solution, BQPhy, already operates across classical CPUs and GPUs while preparing to support emerging quantum hardware.

BQPhy’s 10X Promise, and Beyond

Designed to deliver scalable and rapid results, BQPhy leverages probabilistic algorithms inspired by quantum science. According to BQP, its solvers outperform traditional tools by a factor of ten on classical infrastructure. The long-term vision? Unlock a 1000X leap in simulation speed with quantum-native solvers once quantum hardware reaches commercial maturity.

“Our quantum-inspired solvers are setting a new benchmark in simulation technology,” said Abhishek Chopra, BQP’s founder and CEO. “The traction we’re experiencing from AFRL/RQ and our industry partners validates the platform’s immediate return on investment.”

This performance advantage has already drawn significant industry attention. BQP collaborates with the Department of Defense, the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and the Indian Ministry of Heavy Industries. Its growing customer list also includes ABB, IAI North America, and three leading aerospace firms, including a Tier-I manufacturer.

The company’s credibility surged after entering a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with AFRL’s Aerospace Systems Directorate. Under this partnership, BQP contributes to advancing US national defense simulation capabilities through its digital twin platform and quantum-accelerated simulation software.

In parallel, BQP has forged strong ties with global technology leaders. Partnerships with IBM, Intel, Classiq, and Strangeworks ensure its BQPhy platform remains adaptable and compatible across evolving hybrid and quantum computing systems.

Why Deep Tech Matters for India in 2025

India’s leap into deep tech has never been more relevant. In the current geopolitical and technological landscape, having homegrown quantum-accelerated simulation software is vital for national resilience, digital sovereignty, and global competitiveness. BQP’s success demonstrates how India can become a significant player in sectors such as aerospace, defense, and semiconductors, which require both innovation and security.

As global supply chains shift and the need for secure and sovereign digital infrastructure grows, India’s investments in digital twin platforms and deep tech ecosystems can drive exports, create high-value jobs, and establish strategic independence.

With talent hubs like Bengaluru and growing venture backing, India aims to lead in quantum and hybrid computing, moving from IT services to deep-tech products that solve global engineering problems.

BQP’s dual-headquartered structure, combining Silicon Valley capital with Indian engineering, underscores this transformative potential. By embedding deep tech into mission-critical applications, India is not just catching up but shaping the future.

Headquartered in Syracuse, New York, and with a robust R&D hub in Bengaluru, India, BQP now plans to use the new capital to strengthen its technology, expand customer adoption, and actively participate in international quantum forums.

Its vision is bold yet grounded: to make BQPhy the standard backend for simulation across critical sectors such as aerospace, defense, and semiconductors. By embedding quantum-accelerated simulation software within real-world engineering workflows, BQP hopes to accelerate breakthroughs in innovation and reduce simulation time and cost at scale.
