SpotDraft, an AI-powered contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform, has raised $54 million in Series B funding to further revolutionize how legal teams handle funding, product development, and innovation, offering solutions that streamline the contracting process.

Vertex Growth Singapore and Trident Partners led the round, with additional support from existing investors Xeed VC, Arkam Ventures, Prosus Ventures, and Premji Invest. This funding will fuel SpotDraft’s expansion and accelerate its AI-enhanced CLM solutions.

“We believe 2025 will be an inflection point for team SpotDraft. Apart from market expansion and talent growth, we’re strongly committed to deepening the use of AI in the product to help legal teams unlock efficiencies and drive innovation,” said Shashank Bijapur, chief executive officer of SpotDraft.

SpotDraft Revolutionizing CLM with AI

SpotDraft’s platform offers a comprehensive suite of features that help legal teams streamline the entire contract lifecycle. From AI-assisted redlining and e-signatures to intelligent contract repositories, third-party paper management, and clickwrap agreements, SpotDraft’s technology drives significant efficiencies.

Legal teams no longer have to spend hours on manual processes, freeing time to focus on more strategic tasks. With over 400 companies globally utilizing its platform, SpotDraft’s AI-powered CLM solutions are becoming a staple for mid-market organizations seeking advanced contract management tools.

Founded in 2017 by Shashank Bijapur, a Harvard Law School graduate, and Madhav Bhagat, a Carnegie Mellon alumnus, SpotDraft continues to grow rapidly. Bijapur’s expertise in law and Bhagat’s previous experience at Google have proven to be key drivers of the company’s success.

Recently, the leadership team has expanded with Rohith Salim, a Carnegie Mellon peer of Bhagat, appointed as Chief Product Officer and Akshay Verma, a legal industry veteran and a former executive at Meta and Coinbase, taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer. This strengthened leadership team positions SpotDraft for continued success as it accelerates its mission to transform contract management.

Focusing on Product Innovation

SpotDraft’s product development continues to focus on harnessing the power of AI. Launching tools like VerifAI and ClickThrough demonstrates the company’s commitment to driving innovation. These tools enhance the platform’s capabilities, allowing legal teams to work more efficiently and accurately.

“SpotDraft’s CLM platform has greatly impacted our legal team’s time, workflows, and efficiencies. It is easy to implement and gives us the confidence to manage reviews, automate high-volume contracts, close deals faster, and navigate diligence,” said Jonathan Franz, head of legal Crunchbase.

SpotDraft’s financial trajectory reflects its growth and market acceptance. The company reported a revenue of INR 59.58 crore in FY24, a sharp increase from INR 18.68 crore in FY23. Despite this impressive growth, SpotDraft’s losses remained stable at Rs 68.36 crore. As the company looks to scale its operations further and enhance its AI offerings, it remains focused on turning profitability into the following key milestone.

Strategic Growth Through Talent and Innovation

With over 250 employees across its Bengaluru and New York offices, SpotDraft is aggressively hiring top talent to support its growth strategy. The company’s AI-driven platform is helping legal teams unlock efficiencies and gain a competitive edge in the industry. As SpotDraft continues to refine its products and enhance its leadership team, its AI-powered CLM platform is set to remain at the forefront of the legal tech landscape.

“We see potential in SpotDraft as the first-in-class CLM solution globally. SpotDraft’s product vision and go-to-market strategy are anchored on a deep understanding of enterprise legal teams’ pain points and an unwavering commitment to delivering a world-class solution in enabling faster and more accurate contract processes,” said James Lee, managing partner of Vertex Growth.

SpotDraft’s Series B funding, product innovations, and global expansion efforts underscore its commitment to transforming contract lifecycle management through AI. With a talented leadership team and a growing customer base, SpotDraft is well-positioned to continue driving worldwide efficiency and innovation for legal teams.
