KSGC-2025, Designed for Global Startups
Organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and hosted by the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (GCCEI), the program offers global startups the opportunity to enter and expand in the Asian market through Korea. The K-Startup Grand Challenge 2025 runs from July 2025 to April 2026 in three phases:
Applications for the 10th edition of South Korea’s flagship K-Startup Grand Challenge (KSGC) are now officially open and will be accepted until June 13, 2025, at 15:00 KST, i.e., 11:30 am India Standard Time.
The K-Startup Grand Challenge is powered by an elite alliance of Korea’s innovation leaders, with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) as the host, working in seamless collaboration with the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) and the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (GCCEI) to deliver a world-class startup acceleration experience.
The K-Startup Grand Challenge 2025 runs from July 2025 to April 2026 in three phases:
Phase 1: Market Exploration (July–August 2025, Online)
80 startups will receive online mentoring and insights into the Korean market.
Phase 2: Market Entry (September–December 2025, Hybrid)
40 selected startups will relocate to Korea for acceleration, localization, and partnership building. This includes PoC projects with Korean conglomerates through support from the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation.
Phase 3: Market Growth (January–April 2026, Hybrid)
The top 20 teams will receive extended support, including additional funding and access to Korean investors and buyers.
Indian startups in these phases will benefit from financial incentives and long-term engagement with industry giants via Korean startups via various accelerator platforms.
Meanwhile, in the second phase, selected startups will pitch at the prestigious APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Ministerial Meeting and showcase their work at COMEUP 2025, Korea’s biggest tech and startup event. Finalists will compete for a ₩380 million (US$253K) prize pool. This offers unmatched visibility among global investors and Korean corporates seeking innovation from international startups in Korea.
Additionally, the program connects startups directly with more than 20 of Korea’s top companies, including Samsung, Hyundai, LG, and KT. This access enables valuable proof-of-concept projects and strategic partnerships.
These connections are made possible through the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (GCCEI), which organizes the program. GCCEI belongs to Korea’s national network of 19 innovation centers, each partnered with a major corporation. This structure provides startups with local support and clear pathways to engage with industry leaders.
Indian startups can look to previous winners like Singapore-based Polymerize for inspiration. After winning KSGC 2024, the company partnered with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). It secured a major deal in Korea’s materials industry. This success was made possible through PoC collaborations under the Korean startup accelerator, underscoring how PoC projects with Korean conglomerates can create real, scalable impact.

The K-Startup Grand Challenge 2025 is currently open to startups founded and led by non-Korean nationals.
