Devtron, an open-source internal DevOps platform that democratizes Kubernetes adoption, has received $12 million in new funding led by Insight Partners. The new round follows previous investments from Leo Capital and several well-known angels.
“We are elated to have Insight Partners join our board with the continued trust of Leo Capital and other angel investors,” said Prashant Ghildiyal, Co-Founder and CEO of Devtron.
“Since becoming open source, we have seen thousands of nimble startups across the globe installing Devtron every month, along with many fast-growing startups as our commercial customers. It’s an exciting time of growth and development of our market-defining product,” he added.
Devtron takes a visual-first approach, providing a graphical user interface (GUI) that abstracts away underlying infrastructure, allowing for intuitive features such as one-click deployment on a central dashboard.
Devtron’s platform is conceived of as “DevOps in a box,” allowing startups and growth-focused mid-sized enterprises to focus on building their core business and competitive advantage while Devtron quickly matures DevOps practices within the organization, enabling significant resource optimization by providing autonomy to the development team.
Devtron enables the DevOps team to improve the maturity of DevOps practices quickly
In 2019, Prashant Ghildiyal, Nishant Kumar, and Rajesh Razdan co-founded Devtron. Prashant and Nishant have firsthand experience with the difficulties of scaling DevOps from their prior positions as Heads of Technology and software architects in rapidly expanding, market-leading firms.
By combining several open-source tools created by various organizations, each firm would create its own Frankenstein version of a DevOps platform, delaying the release of its products by months or even years.
The beginnings of Devtron can be found here. Rajesh, an experienced entrepreneur with experience in enterprise software and angel investor, recognized the potential of this platform right away and teamed up with Prashant and Nishant.
Devtron is a software delivery platform for Kubernetes application management. It enables the DevOps team to rapidly improve the maturity of DevOps practices within the organization by giving the development team autonomy and a fully collaborated environment overseen by the DevOps team.
Devtron, based in the United States and India, has seen continued adoption across the United States, Europe, and India, with some of the fastest-growing companies among its heavy users.
“Devtron integrates with products across the microservices lifecycle, particularly Kubernetes, enabling its users to deploy faster and automate their CI/CD pipelines without worrying about Kubernetes knowhow. This saves significant time and resources to build and deploy in production,” said Josh Zelman, Principal at Insight Partners.
Companies have been able to reduce their Kubernetes maturity journey from a year to months using Devtron. Companies with more than 50 microservices have used Kubernetes in some cases in as little as 15 days.
Furthermore, post-adoption companies have seen a 5X improvement in deployment speed, a 90 percent reduction in change failure rate, and a 70 percent reduction in the meantime to recovery.
