Medial, a professional networking platform for startups and tech professionals, has secured $500,000 in pre-Series A funding led by Ortella Global Capital (OG Capital) to revolutionize the startup networking experience within the global startup ecosystem by securing a significant funding round and capturing the attention of a global audience.
Medial, co-founded by Niket Raj Dwivedi, Aishwarya Raj Pandey, Prateek Kaien, and Harsh Dwivedi, combines startup news, curated industry updates, and actionable insights into a single integrated ecosystem. Unlike traditional platforms, Medial avoids clickbait, focusing on delivering meaningful and transparent conversations that add genuine value.
Medial’s standout features include a curated news feed for real-time updates, a social feed for industry banter and advice, and a Startup Showcase where users can pitch ideas, validate concepts, and receive peer feedback. The platform seamlessly blends real identities, like LinkedIn and GitHub, with optional anonymity for enhanced inclusivity.
With 100,000 members comprising entrepreneurs, startup enthusiasts, tech professionals, and over 10,000 daily active users (DAU), Medial has achieved impressive traction within months of its alpha launch.
Funding and Future Plans of Medial
This latest funding round, spearheaded by OG Capital co-founders Rajvardhan Mohite and former IFC executive Sayan Ghosh, will support Medial’s mission to build an integrated ecosystem. The platform plans to expand globally, creating meaningful connections for tech, product management, UI/UX design professionals, venture capital, and beyond. Previously, Medial raised $120,000 in January 2024 in a pre-seed round led by FirstCheque VC.
Medial competes with platforms like Grapevine, Hood (formerly Zorro), Blind, FishBowl, and Reddit by offering a unique mix of professional networking, real-time updates, and community-driven engagement. Founder Niket Raj Dwivedi highlighted that Medial eliminates the need for multiple apps, consolidating professional needs into one efficient space.
Niket Raj Dwivedi, founder and CEO of Medial, said, “Most professionals in the startup and tech communities face fragmented solutions across various platforms. Medial integrates learning, collaboration, and meaningful discussions into a single space, offering users a streamlined and productive experience.”
By prioritizing meaningful content and fostering inclusive workplace discussions, Medial is rapidly positioning itself as the go-to platform for the global startup community.
