Virohan, a Gurugram-based healthcare EdTech startup aiming to build on the skilled healthcare workforce in India, has raised $200,000 more in its Series A funding round, led by existing investor Rebright Partners Pte Ltd. The current fundraising will help the company scale up as it is looking to set up 160 centres across 35+ cities across India in 2021.
“With this funding, we plan to educate over one million students by 2025 through our blended learning platform. This funding is not just going to help us expand operations but will also help in successfully creating an army of the skilled paramedical workforce,” said Kunaal Dudeja, chief executive officer and co-founder, Virohan.
Virohan’s expansion plan with new investment
The company had in August last year raised $2.8 million in seed and Series A rounds. The company will use the latest funding to expand into more campuses and augment its proprietary blended learning technology platform with virtual reality-based practical training.
The company is looking to tie up with Colleges and Training Institutes to expand its reach and focus on building Hindi speaking belts to provide a vernacular option for aspiring paramedics. Currently having centres across Delhi NCR, UP, Maharashtra and Chattisgarh, the focus is expanding across other states and cities.
Virohan’s focus with this expansion is to provide quality medical and healthcare training to students across strata to strengthen India’s healthcare workforce, preparing it to be ready for any severe crisis like COVID-19.
Virohan offers NSDC certified Diploma courses to students to become Medical Lab Technicians and OT Technicians. The company provides training through videos, gamification and real-time tests, leading to increased student engagement and retention. It also supports other education businesses with offline campuses like in becoming tech-enabled through their myClassroom Kit, an end-to-end Hybrid Training solution.
“Virohan’s full-stack offering brings in key stakeholders and partners in the ecosystem together on a common platform to address the challenges faced by students, trainers, hospitals and healthcare innovators. Rebright Partners is excited to partner with Virohan,” said Brij Bhasin, general partner, Rebright Partners.
Virohan is the only player in the market to offer Industry Demand-Driven Training. The company’s proprietary tech carries out job prediction by geography, and so the training providers in location offer courses for which there is demand. Virohan is on a mission to give India a more skilled healthcare workforce and is focussing on educating as many students, practitioners and young professionals in every possible way.
