Ati Motors, an autonomous industrial robotics startup, has raised $20 million in Series B funding to revolutionize manufacturing productivity with its autonomous robots powered by advanced AI models while expanding rapidly in the North American market.
The funding round was led by Walden Catalyst Ventures and NGP Capital. Prominent investors such as True Ventures, Exfinity Venture Partners, Athera Venture Partners, and Blume Ventures participated in this funding round. The startup plans to leverage this capital to accelerate product development, focusing on building cutting-edge AI models to refine its industrial autonomy platform.
“This funding will accelerate our ability to leverage our extensive real-world dataset to develop next-generation AI models and further advance our industrial autonomy platform. The rapid growth we’re experiencing validates our approach of focusing on manufacturing as a vertical and conceptualizing these robots as purpose-built self-driving vehicles,” said Saurabh Chandra, CEO of Ati Motors.
Ati Motors Driving Innovation in Industrial Robotics
Founded in 2017 by Saurabh Chandra, V. Vinay, and Saad Nasser, Ati Motors specializes in designing autonomous robots for sectors like warehousing, logistics, and manufacturing. With operations in India, Southeast Asia, and Mexico, the company is now strengthening its North American presence by expanding its Detroit headquarters. Ati Motors has already partnered with industry giants, including Bosch, TVS Motors, CEAT, and Hyundai while deploying hundreds of Sherpa robots across 40 major manufacturers.
Ati Motors is riding a wave of momentum, tripling its order book in late 2024 and adding nine new industry-leading clients. The startup’s robots streamline operations and enhance productivity, solidifying its position as a key player in industrial robotics. The firm recently extended its reach into Mexico, complementing its Detroit expansion to meet increasing client demand in the US.
Shankar Chandran, partner at Walden Catalyst Ventures, said, “Ati Motors’ unique combination of advanced AI capabilities and robotics, along with a deep understanding of manufacturing environments, positions them perfectly to lead the next wave of industrial automation.”
Financial Growth and Competition
Ati Motors reported an impressive revenue increase in FY24, climbing to ₹12.42 crore from ₹5.7 crore in FY23, though losses also rose to ₹20.3 crore. Competing with companies like Prosus-backed Detect Technologies, Altizon, and Fero Labs, Ati Motors stands out through its innovative AI-driven robotics solutions.
Ati Motors’ latest funding marks a significant step toward revolutionizing industrial robotics globally. With advanced AI models and a strong client base, the company is set to redefine productivity in industrial sectors while expanding its global footprint.
Upal Basu, partner at NGP Capital, added, “The company’s ability to successfully deploy fully autonomous mobile robots across diverse industrial environments, combined with their rapidly growing customer base, makes them a standout in the industrial automation space.”
