Gurugram-based controlled environment agriculture specialist Barton Breeze has raised $ 800k in pre-series round funding from new investors. By publishing a statement, the company has provided information on this.
The money, the first investment for the five-year-old business, will be used to launch cutting-edge goods and value-added services.
Several well-known investors have funded the round, including Shishir Poddar of the Tridents group, Neeraj Kumar of DSK Legal, Manish and Umang Agarwal of KTL Automotive, and Rajeev Bairathi, former CEO of Knight Frank.
The business conducts research and development to integrate technology into farming, automate processes, and utilize various tools to increase productivity.
With the rise of e-commerce and well-known retail stores that sell hydroponically farmed vegetables, there has been a rising acceptability for these products.
For home gardeners, it also offers indoor farms and home kits. It assists in putting up remotely controllable, automated agriculture systems.
Hydroponics is frequently employed for growing lettuce, microgreens, cabbage, spinach, coriander, cucumber, bell pepper, tomato, basil, and many other plants.
With the current infusion of cash, Barton Breeze hopes to fulfill its mission of providing delicious, nutrient-dense, affordable food without sacrificing quality or reducing its commitment to environmentally friendly development or sustainable agricultural business practices.
