The pet care firm Vetic, based in Gurugram, has received $3.7 million seed funding from former Stripe CEO Lachy Groom. Numerous additional angel investors, including Utsav Somani of AngelList India, Nitin Saluja of Chaayos, Ritesh Agarwal of Oyo, and Manu Gupta of Blue Lion, participated in the round as well.
Vetic, a network of technologically advanced clinics specializing in the comprehensive treatment of pets, will use the new funding to expand geographically to Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR and build out its medical center.
Gaurav Ajmera, Founder of Vetic, said, “Pet adoption in India is increasing at a fast rate, however, pet health-care remains the biggest challenge for pet parents. The current pet healthcare ecosystem is plagued with subpar clinical and medical infrastructure with minimal technology adoption.”
Vetic aims to provide the best healthcare facilities for pets
Gaurav Ajmera, the former COO of OYO and CBO of Pristyn Care, founded Vetic in August 2022. Its goal is to offer pet owners ease in all other aspects of pet care, such as nutrition and well-being.
“Vetic believes that every pet should access the best medical care. We aim to deliver this through our network of tech-enabled modern pet clinics equipped with the latest medical infrastructure and experienced veterinary doctors. The latest round of funding will allow us to invest in building consumer-facing technological platforms and cutting-edge medical facilities,” said Gaurav Ajmera
The start-up now operates four clinics in Gurgaon and hopes to expand to 15 clinics by June 2023 across the Bangalore and Delhi NCR regions. The first of its type in pet health care, Vetic released an Android and iOS mobile app that allows for easy appointment scheduling and pet health record keeping.
Vetic, Lachy Groom said, “Pet healthcare is going to experience the same disruption that personal healthcare has experienced over the last few decades. I believe Gaurav and the Vetic team will redefine the pet experience and build the leading pet healthcare brand in India.”
