Bhanzu, a two-year-old math learning platform based in Hyderabad, has raised $15 million in Series A funding led by global investment firm Eight Roads Ventures. According to the startup, another international investor, B Capital, also participated in the round through its Ascent Fund.
The funds will be used to expand its business across multiple geographies, improve its technology infrastructure to provide an exceptional student learning experience, expand its workforce, and strengthen its curriculum with more interesting and outcome-focused content.
“We are going to utilize the proceeds to improve our technology infrastructure and student learning experience and strengthen math curriculum with more interesting and outcome-focused content,” Neelakantha Bhanu, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bhanzu, said.
Bhanzu intends to create a curriculum in multiple languages to serve Asia’s diverse local audiences better. The company plans to expand its operations across various geographies to reach a larger number of students and eliminate global math phobia among students, creating an environment in which every student can learn and love math.

Neelakantha Bhanu, known as the World’s Fastest Human Calculator, founded the company. Bhanu, who won the gold medal in the Mental Calculation World Championship at the Mind Sports Olympiad in London in 2020, developed a curriculum that encourages students to enjoy mathematics.
The company provides mathematics learning programs for students aged 6 to 16, assisting students in becoming four times faster and better at mathematics and, more importantly, laying the groundwork for students to develop cognitive abilities.
Neelakantha Bhanu curates Bhanzu’s curriculum after four years of extensive data collection and research around the world, which revolves around questioning the foundation of math learning by building a bottom-up approach.
